Freedom Life Journey

When Coaching Finally Became Lighter

For the first five years I was coaching, I kept wondering if I could actually keep doing this.
Not because I didn’t care. I cared a lot.
But I felt this constant pressure to deliver, to be impressive, to make every session valuable.
I was tired. Quietly burned out.
And the scary part was, I knew this work mattered to me.
Coaching felt like more than a job. It felt like what I was made to do.
And I didn’t want to lose it.

A lot has changed since then.

The two calls I submitted and passed for my MCC were each under 24 minutes.
The client talked for about 90 percent of the time.
I didn’t perform. I didn’t rush in with clever insights.
Honestly, if I had heard those calls years ago, I probably would have thought,
Wait, that’s all you did?

Moving toward mastery changed everything for me.
I stopped carrying the session. I stopped needing to prove myself.
I started trusting the client. I started trusting myself. I started letting go.

It’s easier now. Lighter. I finally believe I can do this for the long haul.
